Flag meeting at Burma-Bangladesh border

Teknaf, Bangladesh: A flag meeting between Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Burma’s border guard police was held at Zemon Khali BGB outpost on April 28, according to BGB official.
“They discussed different issues such as— drug trafficking, to maintain good relation, illegal intrusion of Rohingya to Bangladesh, smuggling goods, from Burma to Bangladesh and etc.”

10 members of BGB and 12 members of Burma’s border guard police (Hluntin) were participated in the meeting, BGB members from Bangladesh side led by BGB’s Company Commander Fozurul Rahaman of Wykong out post while Burma’s border guard police personnel from Burma was led by Captain U Nain Hlin Aung, according to sources.

At the meeting, BGB discussed many issues with Burma’s border guard police and urged to give tight security and protect at Burma-Bangladesh border, said an aide of Burma’s border police.

However, 12 buffalos of Burma were seized in Bangladesh side, were handed over to border guard police after completing flag meeting.

Besides, another flag meeting was held at Kiaukkhali of Teknaf Sador outpost yesterday same time and eight-member of BGB by BGB officer Mohamed Jakoria. After finishing meeting, 3 buffalos were handed over to BGB by Burma border guard police.
