Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh: A Sector Commander level flag meeting between Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Burmese Border Guard Police (BGP) was held at Cox’s Bazar on May 14, said source of BGB. “They discussed different issues such as— illegal Rohingya migration, drug peddling issues and etc, during the meeting.”
According to BGB officials, a regional commander level flag meeting between Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Border Guard Police (BGP) of Burma was begun at Ocean Paredise hotel of Cox’s Bazar at around 10:00 am that day.
From Bangladesh side, 23 members of BGB led by Brigadier General Mohammad Habibul Karim, Commander, South-East Region, while 17 members of BGP led by its Regional Commander Tin Ko Ko were discussing crucial issues.
Those are trans-border smuggling, human trafficking, illegal migration, drug-smuggling, sources said.
According to different sources, thousands of Yaba tablets have been smuggled to Bangladesh from Burma through sea water and high road.
