Burmese military called and held a meeting with Rohingya villagers from Sommona village under Maungdaw south at village Primary school on November 15, at about 8:30 am, said Mohin, a Rohingya well-wisher from Maungdaw.
In the meeting, the officer asked at the meeting to arrest notorious villagers from the village wherever they have been met and formed 3 groups with 10 villagers each – to watch the village day and night.
The military officer also said at the meeting, every villager must prevent the village and give sentry in the village for recent situation of Arakan State is not stable, said a participant on condition of anonymity.
Over 18-year- old youths and village elders including Village Admin officer participated in the meeting, the participant more added.
But, Rohingya villagers are not able to sleep in the houses for fear of arrest by the military and Border Guard Police (BGP), according to the local villagers.
More innocent Rohingya people of Maungdaw south and Rathedaung township have been arrested and killed, and some women were raped by army and BGP (Border Guard Police) personnel after the attacks of Ko Tan Kauk (Don Say Para) BGP out-post on October 9, according to sources.
Thousands of Rohingya villagers are becoming homeless and have been suffering from the shortage of food in Maungdaw south, sources said.
